This was the first public private partnership site where the Tshepang Trust started with its ARV treatment program. This program was established as a collaborative initiative between the Western Cape Department of Health, The Department of Medicine at GF Jooste, the infectious Disease Unit of UCT and the Tshepang Trust.
Patients were seen by the hospital physicians and GPs in the community and Tshepang was responsible for costs thereof. This program went on for 13 months at the end of which the government took over the financial responsibility there of the 289 patients had been enrolled on treatment.
